“UAW Region 9A represents approximately 11,000 active and retired members and their families in Massachusetts. We are proud to endorse Casey Pease for state representative in the 1st Franklin District” said UAW Region 9A Director Beverley Brakeman. “He is a strong candidate who will advocate for workers’ rights. We look forward to working with Casey on the many issues facing working families.”

“Coming from a union family, I’m honored to earn the support of the UAW,” said Pease. “It’s clear we need a bold advocate in office who’s not afraid to be seen on the picket lines fighting for our workers.”

Pease, chair of the Worthington Democratic Town Committee, has worked as a staffer for the Bernie Sanders presidential campaign, an organizer on the Save Our Public Schools campaign alongside the Massachusetts Teachers Association, and has been on the picket line for the Graduate Employee Organization UAW Local 2322 organizing at UMass Amherst and the Massachusetts Nurses Association at Baystate Franklin Medical Center and Berkshire Medical Center as they fought to negotiate fair contracts and safe patient limits.

Along with the UAW Region 9A, Casey has received endorsements from Worthington Selectboard Chair Charley Rose and Selectman Steve Smith, the Bay State Stonewall Democrats, the official LGBTQIA+ organizing arm of the Massachusetts Democratic Party, and Run for Something, a national organization working to usher in a bold new generation in state government.
